The Twisting Den

[Hurricane]

This den is a maze of tunnels intertwined with each other, only the members knowing how to get through it without being lost. A small hole in the roof lets water drip into the den and leaves a large pool of water for the canids. This is the main roleplay area.

Kai let another yawn escape his maw and he turned back around towards Hurricane and the others. He sat down next to the entrance of the den and began to carefully remove the dirt from between his pads.

For a moment, he thought he saw the other maned wolf glance at him, but decided it was nothing. He was never a very chatty wolf, so if they were to meet, then fate would bring them together.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane snapped as Kai got close enough to here the conversation with him and his Consiliums. Ever since Enzie had disappeared yet again, and Fos had left, the Leader hadn't been completely himself. "What are you doing? Go scout the territory for predators!" He snarled, his blue eyes flaring.

[Layla]

"Is that my job?" he questioned. He didn't even have a rank yet, so he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do anyway. He nearly bit his paw at the sudden sharpness in the leader's tone.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane swung his head threateningly towards Kai, adavncing towards the Maned Wolf. "I'm sorry, are you questionig my orders?" He said quietly, his voice dangerously low. Now, he wouldn't attack Kai, not yet. Not unless he proved to much for Hurricane to handle. He'd set Kai straight if it came to that.

He snorted, but said no more. Kai continued across the land and kept his ears pricked, yet they still rang with the hostility from the leader. Did he have a rank now and just never noticed?

Whatever, he thought and continued on his way, not really paying too much attention at the moment.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane replied with a snarl at Kai snorted an dturmed his back on the Newcomer. It was one thing to annoy Hurricane as a friend, another to get on his nerves as a Newcomer. It sends him the wrong signals. The signals that you can't be trusted. He stood away from the Consiliums, awaiting Kai's report.

Kai scanned the area. No predators. Some prey though. He bounded back towards Hurricane, tongue lolling out of his mouth. He suddenly forgot the little argument for some reason, happy that he could do something to take his mind off his previous life. "Nothing, sir. Just a bit o' prey if your hungry," he reported. "Sorry about earlier, sir, I just was caught offguard..."

[Hurricane]

Hurricane just stared at Kai icily for a moment. "Okay." He responded, flicking his golden and and white tail and padding over to Skyfall. "I don't know why you are making a nest," He snorted. "We have a den for a reason." He said, turning away and squeezing inside.

[Layla]

Kai followed the leader into the den, wary of his anger. "I was just wondering, what's to eat 'round here? Does this pack have a pile where we collect our spoils and share with the pack?" he asked. "Sir," he added quickly.

[Hurricane]

"Quit callin'me sir." He snapped, padding into the deeper cave of the den. It's calledhunting, you eat what you find, and always leave some for the pack in the clearing." He responded dryly.

[Skyfall]

Skyfall looked up at the leader, her ears pricked in alarm. She wondered what he wanted to say to her. Perhaps it's something about what is expected to act in this pack.

"Is something bothering you?" he asked, ears twitching. Usually he wouldn't be so inquisitive but Hurricane's grumpy attitude intrigued questions that he felt he needed to ask before he exploded.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane continued padded further into the den into a smaller cave, one only he was allowed access, and the Consiliums if needed. Those who wished to speak with him should wait outside. "None of your business. You are quite nosy for a newcomer." He snorted.

[Lucha]

Lucha, being an impatient character when uncomfortable, quickly stood up. She ignored the other Maned Wolf's constant glances towards her.

"Well, noice chat with ye, Ken-ee. See ye lay-ta." She dismissed herself, and offered a brief smile.

The Lead Consilium was extremely used to violence and merciless fighting with strangers. Now that she was part of a pack, she needed to open up to her subordinates.

But not too open.

She awkwardly paced after Hurricane, hoping to find positive assistance from him. She watched from a short - yet noticeable - distance from the Leader. She jerked her head back over the side of the cave. Was Hurricane being... critical? Lucha felt quite proud. Her attitude had rubbed off on him after all. A villainous grin and narrowed eyes darkened the curious expression on her face.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane watched as Lucha approached, but kept her distance. He dismissed Kai from his presence with a twitch of his ears and beckoned Lucha over with a sweep of his tail on the ground. "Yes, what is it Lucha? Is there something needed to be discussed?" He asked curiously, his temper fading as respect for his loyal friend overtook him.

[Lucha]

Lucha's ears perked almost instantly at the sound of her name. Her devilish expression dissolved with her darkness.

"Oy! H-Hurry-cane!" She greeted with a forced smile, almost certain an embarrassed bead of sweat had dripped off of her brow.

She approached from the outside of the den, her head held lower than usual. She had grown to become very close to Hurricane, with his family issues and all. She understood what it was like to have no family except the pack; anymore, at least. Hearing his question, she flattened her ears to the side again, then looked away from his curious stare.

"Na, na, jost wonderin'... Got any tips fa me? On how ta be ah... Nice-ah Consileeum?" She quickly blurted out her words.

Instinctively looking down at Hurricane with eyes full of desperateness, her expression seemed to beg for assistance. Her tail drooped.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane frowned for a moment, pondering over her response. "I don't understand. You are a wonderful Consilium, that's why you're my Lead. I thought you liked who you were?" He inquired thoughtfully, rising to his paws, he still had to look up at Lucha a little bit. "Perhaps maybe conversing with the members a bit more and just having a relaxing day every now and again would help?" He offered, not entirely sure what the Maned Wolf wanted.

[Skyfall]

Skyfall gave herself a quick wash before going off to hunt. She assumed that is what Hurricane wanted her to do. Skyfall remembered about her pack rituals back in her old home.

Skyfall sniffed out for any signs of prey. As long as she brought something back she should gain the trust of her new leader.

[Lucha]

Lucha flicked her ear to the side, still feeling a bit uncomfortable with the topic of being a more kinder Consilium.

"Well, ye know, I lav me tuffness... Bat me wimpy pack memba's been gettin' scay-ad." She whispered, hoping no other curious canines would catch her eye.

The Lead Consilium brought a paw close to her chest, crippling the bones in her ankle. She shook it lose, then set it down back onto the cold floor of the cave. She cautiously looked around, now aware of the two Newcomers frantically skidding around the entrance.

[Hurricane]

Hurricane chuckled, he had never seen Lucha act like this before. [B]"Lucha, if they don't appreciate who you are, ignore them. I like who you are, you like who you are, your friends like who you are. What does it matter what everyone else thinks?"[/b) The male Dingo inquired, trying to think of what Fos would say.

[Layla]

Kai sat down back at the entrance of the den, and resumed where he had left off bathing. He closed his eyes as he managed to gently free the dirt and grime clotting along the small short hairs on his paws. Feeling nice and clean, he decided he would set out on patrol after a quick washdown of his chest.

[Lucha]

Lucha smiled politely, accepting her violent ways once again by reassurance from Hurricane. She began to let out her deep chuckle a bit as well, beginning to embrace the fact that she could be herself without hesitation.

"Soot ye self, Mate. Thanks agayn."

She nodded, and sat down besides her trustworthy companion. The incredibly sized female looked up at the damp holes in the cave. She stared at the pokes in the ceiling, watching as rays of light streamed elegantly into -

Plop!

A murky droplet plummeted to the ground, instead, landing on Lucha's warm nose. She was quickly shocked, and jerked her head back. At first, her face flushed with pure rage and anger at Mother Nature. Then realizing how ridiculous this reason was, she broke out in a series of deep laughs, even slightly squinting her eyes.

[Layla]

When Kai finished cleaning up, he padded away from the den and into the clearing. Perhaps while patrolling he could snag a bite to eat. He passed the other newcomer who joined at the same time he did and continued along his way. Kai wasn't very chatty, nor was he ever very friendly.

[Skyfall]

Skyfall watched the maned wolf pass her, ears pricked up with curiousity as he seemed to ignore her. She rose to her paws and proceeded to trot after him. "Wait up!" she called.
